Sounds great doesn’t it?
Not having to put in loads of time and effort and get instantly better is something we’re all after.
Everyone would love to wake up pop a pill and feel great.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing on this earth that can work that quick.
Most of us have quite a lot wrong both physically and mentally.
Even if we’re extremely good at hiding it from ourselves and the outside world.
If you’re being really honest right now – you could probably list 5 things you’d love to be done with in a heartbeat!
The problem is most of the time pills have quite horrific side-effects and often cause more difficulties along the way.
However, all is not lost.
If you let your body get on with it then it’s pretty good at fixing everything we do to it without much intervention.
The real issue – we never give it chance.
We have a bad back from sitting in a chair all day at work and continue to sit in the chair.
We are stressed out because of all the pressure placed on us in our job, family, or general life yet we stay in the status quo.
We are tired all the time because of the ‘quick’ food we consume and still purchase the same foods week in, week out because it’s easier.
Just looking at those 3 examples (and I bet I’ve hit a nerve with at last one of them…)
Is it really easier to stay as you are slowly deteriorating day, by day rather than making small changes to your routine and ultimately get healthier day by day?
Nothing can fix a bad back instantly.
Nothing can remove all your stressors instantly.
One healthy meal at teatime today will not undo the years’ worth of neglect and abuse you’ve put it through.
There is however light at the end of the tunnel.
I may not be able to click my fingers and remove everything that ails you but I can help you cheat.
I’ve already said that your body – if left alone – can do wondrous things.
Did you know your liver can regenerate?
Even if there’s only 25% left it can regenerate into a whole one?
Personally, I think that’s astounding.
It doesn’t need any pills to do this.
It doesn’t need any scientific intervention.
It just needs to be left alone and for us to stop killing it off faster than it can fix itself!
Back to the soul reason you’re still reading this blog right now – the cheat.
What if you could kick-start cellular repair?
What if you could enhance all of your body’s natural abilities to fix yourself without causing more harm in other parts of your body?
What if you could simply speed up the process?
What if it was really easy?
I mean so easy a child could do it?
Even better – what if it took just 2-4 mins a day out of your life?
Did you know that within 30 seconds of application 1 drop of essential oil can service every single cell in your body?
Pretty amazing huh?
There are essential oils for supporting ever single aspect of your body’s natural wellbeing.
They’re not drugs so they don’t cure, prevent or treat any type of disease (even though some very unscrupulous marketing campaigns would have you believe otherwise).
What they do is give your body a kick up the bum in the right direction and enable your body to supercharge any natural healing processes.
If we take the bad back example – just having a massage on an affected area can help to stimulate your body’s natural anti-inflammatory, pain reduction and cellular repair.
If you were to add a bit of rosemary to the mix you’d increase the anti-inflammatory response, adding wintergreen increases pain fighting ability and plonking a drop of lavender down helps your bodies cellular repair processes.
It’s nothing your body can’t do by itself.
You’ve just supercharged your natural repair process.
If you’re stressed jumping on YouTube and watching a funny video which makes you laugh instantly cuts off the cortisol (stress hormone) production in your body.
But if you’re really stressed out laughing is near impossible.
So you can cheat.
Diffusing a stress reduction oil such as lemon before you jump on YouTube will have kick-started the reduction in cortisol production enabling you to laugh and finish the process in an instant.
If you’re diet consists of fast-food, takeaways and processed products chances are your body is getting limited amounts of the good stuff it needs to do all the natural healing.
Your digestive system is probably getting a kicking every time you put food in your mouth.
Nearly everyone I speak to has a digestive upset of some sort.
Whether its constipation, bloating, IBS, reflux, spasms, pain… The list is endless!
Again your body already knows what it needs to do to digest food – you’ve never had to teach it!
By having a glass of lemon water (hot or cold) every morning you can reduce the likelihood of IBS symptoms when you next eat.
If you rub some rosemary, lavender and peppermint on your tummy when you wake up in the morning you can support your digestive system in alleviating constipation.
Now think about how long it takes to do any of that?
Less than 1 minute?
OK so a back massage will probably take a bit longer.
In all reality through after a couple of minutes the oil will be massaged in and your body will be suitably stimulated.
Here’s the thing.
Cheating your way to health is relatively simple.
But to truly get healthy you will need to put in a little bit of work.
Cheating to health just enables you to actually experience results quicker than if you were leaving it up to your body.
No amount of oil will reverse the effects of anything if you continue to put your body and mind under extreme pressure every single day.
You can however, just take baby steps.
Decide to practice 10 mins of yoga every morning for the next week after your back massage.
The week after add lemon to your morning glass of water.
The week after that rub a drop of lavender into your temples before you get in the car and head into traffic to keep you chilled on the journey.
By changing one thing a week you will drastically improve your life for the long term.
The only person who can truly help you get well is you.
No one can do it for you.
But – cheating with essential oils certainly makes it a lot more fun!
Have a fabulous day & catch you soon – Katie.
