Option 1: Mental Health Management In The Classroom* (8 hours)
Key Learning Objectives:
Teachers are able to confidently understand and identify childhood mental healthdifficulties
Covering the 6 most common childhood mental health difficulties; depression, anxiety, ADHD, conduct disorder, Autistic Spectrum Condition and specific learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyscalculia & dyspraxia)
Teachers understand the implications of key psychological principles and how to use these to inform teaching practices and seamlessly embed effective therapeutic and mental health management techniques into their classroom
Key signs of mental health difficulties
Understanding child development and human behaviour
Developing a culture of integrative working between pupils, teaching assistants and the teacher
Developing a pathway of support
Practical techniques drawn from current psychological practice to support pupils with mental health difficulties
Increasing teaching skills and improving levels of quality first teaching for all pupils within the classroom
While ideally this is delivered in one sitting the training can be divided into two 4 hour slots. Where session 1 would develop leaders understanding and knowledge and session 2 covers practical skills building and practice sessions to embed learning.

Option 2: Mental Health Management In The Classroom & Licence for 3 months Training session as above in Option 3 plus a recording and access to training materials for new teachers/refresher training for a 6 month period.
