A local organisation offering a dedicated mental health service to individuals across the county has nominated Talent Match as its dedicated youth project for 2016, which will provide enhanced support to young people suffering with mental illness and behavioural issues.
Woodland Psychological Services Ltd has pledged its support to the Big Lottery Funded project by reinvesting the monies from one of its recent training courses into delivering a series of workshops for members of the Talent Match team, an organisation set up to tackle youth unemployment and support those aged 18-24 struggling to find career opportunities.
Katie Woodland, Managing Director of Woodland Psychological Services Ltd, explained: “Talent Match seeks to support motivated young people who may have suffered setbacks or difficulties, but who are committed to moving forwards with their lives through the securing of employment opportunities. Everything the organisation stands for fits very much with our own ethos of empowering individuals, and we are absolutely delighted to be able to support the team in further enhancing the fantastic work they do across local communities.
“As part of our support, we will be delivering a series of comprehensive workshops focused very much on the identification, management, and support of individuals with mental health difficulties, so that members of the Talent Match team have the knowledge and confidence to effectively meet the needs of these individuals and to fully support them in their search for work, training or education.”
Cathy Addison of Talent Match, said: “As an organisation, we believe that all young people have the potential and capability to improve their circumstances and life chances, with the right support. Increasingly however, we are finding that the young people we are working with have more and more complicated needs which require specialist and enhanced knowledge, so it’s important that they receive the right kind of help and support to increase their own confidence and skills. We are hugely grateful to the team at Woodland Psychological Services Ltd for supporting us in ensuring that we continue to deliver the very best and most appropriate service to those young people in need across the region, and are very much looking forward to working together over the next few months.”
It was the profits from the Leadership Development Training Programme course delivered by Woodland Psychological Services to the team at Telford-based CMK Electrical Services Ltd which were donated to facilitate the Talent Match partnership. Collin Kelleher from CMK explained:
“The team at CMK regularly supports young people in securing appropriate training, and we believe that it is our duty to help those in need. As a business community, we should be doing more to not only bring new life into the workplace but to effectively help existing employees who may be struggling with stress, depression, and anxiety. And, we are thrilled to be able to support such a wonderful organisation as Talent Match in helping secure the future of both individuals and businesses across the county.”
Launched in May 2014, Woodland Psychological Services Ltd offers a wide range of supportive services from advice and diagnosis, through to therapy and CPD-accredited mental health awareness training to businesses, and schools.
